How are students selected?

A scholarship committee selects students from nominated eighth graders each spring

Criteria focuses on

• Need
• Achievement
• Potential to reach educational goals

Funding

• The amount of available funds determines how many scholarships are awarded each year
• All funds are provided from individuals and businesses in the community
• No funding is provided from any government or state funds
• Contributions are tax deductible
• Honor and memorial gifts can be given

Project Potential Results

• Awarded over 300 scholarships
• Currently have 100 students
• Approximately 18% of LSHS total enrollment
• 100% of 2008, 2009 and 2010 senior class were accepted to college
